Sea Turtle Rehabbed and Released on St. George! 

This turtle was picked up by a local fishing guide and brought in because she seemed to be injured or sick.   Our local sea turtle network got her to a rehab facility quickly and the great folks at Gulf World in Panama City brought her back to a healthy state. She was released back to her home waters of the Gulf of Mexico from St. George.  See the link for "Turtles" above for more pictures of this turtle and her release.

This is a special place for sea turtles, and for people longing to find their own special property on this beautiful bit of coast.  It's hard to say which part of this area is my favorite: the barrier island of St. George with its beautiful white sand beaches, wildlife, and pet-friendly resort character, the little towns of Apalachicola, Carrabelle, and Eastpoint, for their fresh seafood, outstanding restaurants, and friendly local shopping, or Dog Island with its quietly superior shelling, fishing, and privacy.
